| The NSJCC Early Childhood Program provides a full range of EES licensed programs for infants, toddlers and preschoolers and kindergarten age children as well as a school age program called "Kid's Space".
For over 25 years the NSJCC has provided thousands of children with the warm, nurturing care that promotes an early sense of accomplishment and self-esteem. Classes, are designed to develop independence and self reliance while stimulating the child’s curiosity. Learning shapes, colors, letters, numbers and other reading readiness activities are included in the curriculum. All of our programs are designed to cultivate each child's social, emotional, physical and cognitive skills in a safe environment. All of our teachers are dedicated professionals with years of experience caring for and teaching young children.
Our infant, toddler and preschool programs operate from 7 am to 6:00 pm Monday through Friday year round. Parents may choose from either a 10 month or 12 month program.
Our low child - to– teacher ratio ensures that your child will receive optimum care and attention in an exciting learning environment. In our program, infants can develop interests through sensory stimulation, make choices, develop trust, learn about language, develop social skills and gross motor skills. There is an orderly physical environment that contains a variety of stimulating toys and materials where children are encouraged to explore and move around. Schedules are designed to meet the varying needs of each individual infant. The daily routine includes: creative art activities for mobile infants to develop fine motor skills and creativity, outdoor time as well as play time alone and with others. Teachers will rock, cuddle and nurture every child. Teachers show respect for children's needs and talk to them in a caring way. We guide their behavior in positive ways that build self-esteem by promoting a pro-social environment and encouraging cooperative learning. We maintain frequent communication with parents and are always available to discuss particular issues or concerns. Parents are welcomed to participate in daily and special events. We feel that for your child to gain the most from this early childhood experience, teachers and parents must work together, sharing resources and knowledge about children. Our Infant program is licensed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Early Education and Care Department STATEMENT OF PHILOSOPHY We provide a developmentally appropriate curriculum, based upon knowledge of how children grow and what they can do socially, emotionally, cognitively and physically. Each program is individualized in order to meet the needs of each and every child. We recognize that each child’s pattern of growth and development is different and that each child is a unique individual with differing experiences, needs, interests and cultural values. We provide a safe and orderly physical environment that contains a variety of stimulating toys and materials where children are encouraged to explore and move around. We believe that children learn by being actively involved. Children may select activities and materials that interest them, as well as, being provided with a theme-based curriculum. We believe that children learn best when they can explore concrete materials, and when they share their ideas and questions with other children and caring teachers. An integral part of our curriculum weaves the education of Jewish heritage and culture into each child's school day. Learning about Jewish holidays, singing songs, exploring traditions and reciting blessings are a major part of teach child's school day. Each week ends with a Shabbat gathering, where the children celebrate the Sabbath in a warm and meaningful way. Candles are lit, the blessings are recited, juice and challah are shared and the children join in singing Shabbat songs. Our Shabbat gathering, as well as, our songs, customs, and traditions, familiarize children with Jewish heritage and enrich our daily educational experience. Teachers show respect for children's needs and ideas and talk with them in caring ways. Young children are developing self-control and learning what behavior is acceptable and not acceptable. We guide their behavior in positive ways that build self-esteem by promoting a pro-social environment and encouraging cooperative learning. We provide an atmosphere where children practice kindness and respect for one another. Parents are welcomed to participate in daily and special events. We feel that for your child to gain the most from this early childhood experience, teachers and parents must work together, sharing resources and knowledge about children.
