Early Childhood For over 25 years the North Suburban Jewish Community Center has provided thousands of children with the warm, nurturing care that gives them an early sense of accomplishment and self-esteem. We provide a developmentally appropriate curriculum, based on knowledge of how children grow and what they can do socially, emotionally, cognitively and physically. We provide an atmosphere where children practice kindness and respect for one another. We believe that children learn by being actively involved. Each program is individualized to meet the needs of every child. An integral part of our curriculum weaves the education of Jewish heritage and culture into the child's day. Each week ends in a Shabbat gathering, where the children celebrate the Sabbath in a warm and meaningful way. Candles are lit, the blessings are recited, juice and challah are shared and the children join in singing Shabbat songs. Our Shabbat gathering, as well as, our songs, customs, and traditions, familiarize children with Jewish heritage and enrich our daily educational experience. All of our teachers are qualified professionals who have experience caring for and teaching young children. Our infant, toddler and preschool programs operate from 7AM - 6PM year round. Parents have the choice of a 10 month program or a 12 month program.
